Camera Server No Connection and Test Phone

Problem: Issue #1 was the customer could not see cameras on phone app. Issue #2 was customer desk phone powers up but has no functionality.

Solution: Test camera server, cable run and connectivity at network rack. Also, test power to desk IP phone and internet connectivity.

Upon accessing camera room I noticed an error message onscreen. There is power to camera server so now to test at the rack.

Network Rack Cabling Tests

There were many unlabeled cables here so it took a while to test. I toned and probed all around a signal was found.

Ethernet Cable Broken

Found the culprit to be a broken ethernet cable end. It did not click into place when installed and wiggled out periodically.

Ethernet Cable Replaced And Tested

Replaced the broken Ethernet cable with a new one. Camera server is now functional and customer can see all feeds. Buttoned up view.

Desktop IP Phone No Service

Staff member mentioned desktop phone no longer calls out but it does power on.

Cable Run Test From Phone To Rack

I performed a cable test from phone the rack. The test passed which shows connectivity.

Speed Test Performed

I connected my laptop to the same port as the phone to get an idea of speed. This speed is consistent with this phone's requirements.

Phone Manual Reboot

After a manual phone reboot, I noticed the phone went into a reboot status. Hopefully this will fix the issue.

Update Stopped and Skipped

The phone update was auto-aborted about halfway through. The only way out was to click 'ok'.
